| Event Introduction
For 25 years, Director Chi Po-lin risked his life to capture works that must be seen to continue inspiring those living on this land!" Driven by such a belief, the Seeing Chi Po-lin Foundation has also moved 8,052 co-builders to generously support. Thus, in 2019, the "Chi Po-lin Space" opened officially in Tamsui, gathering over 600,000 precious images taken by Director Chi, narrating the stories of the land through various themed exhibitions each year, and continuously collaborating with domestic and international creators related to ecology and environmental protection through exchanges and dialogues, spreading the essence of land friendliness and life care, building it into a platform for "Taiwanese stories."
Taiwan is an island embraced by forests, with a forest coverage rate of 60%, double the global average.
With the Tropic of Cancer crossing and high mountains extending, it nurtures a rich and diverse forest ecology. Numerous lives are sheltered by forests, including us.
As the threat of climate change approaches, "net-zero emissions" is the balance humanity seeks, and "sustainability" is our envisioned future, focusing again on the alternation of nature and human imprints, hoping for another chance at humility, coexisting with the forest.
This exhibition, titled "Shared Forest," is divided into four sections:
"Source of the Collective Forest": Narrates the origin story of forests.
"Contemporary Forest": Discusses contemporary issues and challenges of forests.
"Continuation of the Wild Forest": Observes how people are changing their ways towards forests.
"Becoming a Vast Chi Po-lin": The story and collection of Director Chi Po-lin.
You are sincerely invited to visit, view the stories of this land through images, and become a guardian of the forests!
